BBQ + Friends + Family + House + Everything Weekend

That, y'all, was a weekend for the books.
It was filled with family, friends, and celebrations. It was sunny and gorgeous out. We didn't get any time by any form of water {ocean, lake, river, or pool} but we did spend hours in our new house chipping away at the endless to do list. It was a crazy busy weekend for sure but oh so worth it.
It went a little something like this:

On Friday evening, some good family friends of ours hosted a perfect wedding shower for Patrick and me.

 {Patrick's parents & brother & us}

There was plenty of good food, our friends spoiled us rotten with presents, and it was so nice to spend time with everyone!

Not that we weren't already looking forward to our wedding in July but now we're really looking forward to it. The next time we'll all see each other will be for Laura & Stephen's wedding... her dad {in the picture above} offered to turn the party into a double wedding ceremony {since he's officiating at both of our weddings} but we declined. July, here we come!
Saturday morning started out with a short run... because it's entirely too hot and humid in Columbia.

We then made a trip to Soda City Market where Patrick & I popped into the jewelry shop where he purchased my engagement ring to browse for our wedding bands. We both ended up finding ones we liked and we went ahead and purchased them.
Check! One more thing off our never ending wedding to do list! We celebrated with lunch on Main Street at Cantina 76.

The rest of Saturday was spent working in our house. I can't believe how much we've already accomplished with the help of my dad {nor how much we still need to do} but we're getting closer and closer to being done.
Saturday night, we went out with my parents, my brother, and my brother's girlfriend Jen to grab dinner and drinks. But the real highlight of the night? Getting blinds hung up in three rooms {sunroom, guest bedroom, hall bathroom} in our house. Y'all. I have a slight obsession with them.

& Sunday? Sunday was another day in the house with our completely awesome blinds.

We also started moving Patrick into the house {YAY!!!!!} and will finish up tonight with the help of his roommate of the last four years. I know they're going to miss living together but I'm happy that we're finally getting into our house!

  7. It sounds like you had the best weekend filled with lots of celebrating and getting stuff done! It's funny how once you move into a house, things that seemed so small and not important like blinds are suddenly so important and amazing when they're finally hung up!
