A Kiawah Island Baby Shower

There are a lot of things that make Kiawah Island so great and a place that I love to visit.

There's the beach, the miles and miles of bike paths around the island, the beautiful places to explore, and the endless alligators to spot. But what makes it extra special are all of the people down there that have become close family friends of ours over the last 5+ years that my parents have had their house there.

One of those couples' {who we've actually known for close to 30 years} asked if they could host a baby shower for us for all of our Kiawah friends to attend. Everyone wanted to celebrate Baby Girl and we were totally on board.

Becky and Satch hosted the shower in their home and prepared some delicious food {including plenty of sugar cookies and goldfish for me!} and even turned on the Clemson football game for those of us that were interested in catching the 2nd half of the Clemson   vs Wake Forest game. All of our friends there completely spoiled us with presents for Baby Girl. From handmade Clemson and Carolina afghans to clothes, books, and more, there was so many wonderful things to open up.

{I have no idea what's so hysterical in this photo... but I'm willing to be it has something to do with the tutu we found in this present}

Our hostess even remembered the grandmothers, and got them each a gift, too!

It was wonderful to be able to celebrate with our families, too! Not only did both sets of grandparents-to-be make it, but my brother and his family, as well as my aunt and uncle made it out to the island for the celebration.

It's crazy to think that the next time we're down on Kiawah, we'll have a little one in tow with us. I sure hope she loves the beach as much as Patrick and I do. Between Kiawah and Edisto, it's safe to say that she's going to grow up spending a lot of time out on the sand and in the waves. It won't be long before she's hooked up in some form or fashion on the back of my bike for bike rides around the island!
