Personally, I think we saved the best for last from our Charlotte brewery hop the other weekend.

Our last two stops: Olde Mecklenburg Brewery & Sugar Creek Brewing.
Olde Mecklenburg Brewery {OMB} started out in the building that Sugar Creek now occupies. It blows my mind every time that I see their old building compared to the new one. The old one might have been suitable for 100 people tops. Their new location? We figured there must have been over 1,000 people there!
They have an amazing outdoor beer garden here, complete with all of the long community tables.
We grabbed our beers inside and of course, I went with my favorite Hornet's Nest Hefeweizen. It is such a great seasonal beer and if I see it on tap somewhere, I'm absolutely going to get it.
The weather was perfect for sitting outside since it was beginning to cool of a little bit from the heat of the day. We grabbed four seats in the middle of one of the tables and hung out for a bit.
After finishing up our beers, we walked across the street to Sugar Creek Brewing.
Sugar Creek is possibly my other favorite brewery in Charlotte and I think it's because it is never crowded. Everyone always seems to be across the street at OMB and to be honest, that's fine with me. It's a welcome break to pop in here and get away from the crowds.
I love the White Ale here. It's also one of the only two Sugar Creek beers that I can find in Columbia.
After popping around to six breweries over 6 hours, it was time to call it a night.
Big thanks to Laurel & Steven for being our unofficial brewery hop guides on Saturday! We had such a good time exploring a few breweries in Charlotte and we cannot wait for another weekend to explore more. There's a pretty good chance that we'll have the opportunity to hit up some Concord, NC area breweries {26 Acres, Cabarrus, etc} and some Corneilius, NC ones {D9, Primal, etc} before the summer is over.
