Hellooooo College Football Season!

Are you ready?!

Tomorrow is the first official day of College Football Season! Oh boy, how I have missed you over the last 7 months. I have been counting down to this day for quite sometime. I'm not going to lie. This is like Christmas Eve for me right now.

The one thing that drives me crazy though is that every single year, USC {South Carolina, not Southern California} is the team that opens up the season. I'm always so excited for this game though since it is the first one after all but it's such a weird feeling to be excited for a USC game, especially when they aren't playing Clemson. But whatever. It's FOOTBALL.

So call me crazy, but I'm going to kick off the 2013 CFB season in a big way: I'm going to fit two football games and a wedding into one weekend. Thank goodness it's Labor Day weekend and I'll have Monday to recover!

Here's how it's going to go down:

My dad may or may not have two tickets to the USC/UNC football game {he's the lone Gamecock in the family} on Thursday night. I may or may not have invited myself to use the second ticket. But... it's the first football game of the season. It's the battle of the Carolinas. It's SEC vs ACC. Depending on who you listen to, by going to this game I can see the soon-to-be 2013 Heisman winner playing. C'mon. How could I not invite myself along? Besides, I may be a Clemson fan but I can play nice at a USC game, too. It's football. They're not playing Clemson. I can handle it.

{see, I can play nice!}

Fast forward to Saturday.

ESPN has {correctly} decided that the most important and more interesting game of the weekend is going to be the matchup between Clemson and Georgia. They have rolled their tour bus into Clemson and have begun setting up shop to produce the College Gameday show from campus on Saturday. The last time they were at Clemson was in 2006 when Clemson played Georgia Tech. Clemson showed up in all purple, Davis & Spiller {Thunder and Lightning} tore up the field, and Clemson walked away with a victory {we won't talk about how that season ended}. It, hands down, makes it into my top 5 Clemson game experiences.

This is going to be one hell of a day.

ESPN College Gameday in the morning. A day FULL of tailgating. It's the first game of the season for Clemson. There will be lots of catching up with friends that I haven't seen in a few months. There will be some good food. There will be some even better beer & wine. Clemson is ranked #8 in the country, Georgia is ranked #6, and it's a night game. If you're a Clemson fan you know how special it is to have a night game. Is anyone else looking forward to the new fireworks that we never saw last year until the last game of the season thanks to noon & 3:30pm kick off times?

Whew. Deep breath.

Fast forward to Sunday.

Wake up, drive back to Columbia, get ready, attend wedding.

I've known Kayla & Jayson since high school {youth group, what what!} and I am thrilled that they are finally tying the knot. Can I say that it's about time? :)

Hellooooo College Football Season! {& goodbye wedding season!}

Until then...

  1. JAYSON AND KAYLA ARE GETTING MARRIED?

    I had no idea! I remember meeting them...bizarre. Looks like this is the third wedding I know of going on this Sunday, one of which I am attending...cake, dresses, and iPhoto exchanges all day!
