Red's Ice House: A Lunch of Biking, Beers, & Burgers

I've been coming down to Kiawah for almost a year now and while I had heard a lot about Red's Ice House, I had never actually made it there for a meal. I decided this past weekend that the weather was perfect enough to bike over to Seabrook Island and eat lunch outside at Red's.

So my mom & set out on our bikes to head to Red's Ice House while my dad finished up some bathroom construction stuff {more on that later this week!} before driving out to meet us.

No bike ride is complete without a stop by a boardwalk to check out the beach.

We found a table outside... close enough to still be able to see the TVs inside but outside enough to enjoy the warm weather, sunshine, and view of the marina. It might not be summertime yet but the place was fairly busy due to the gorgeous weather. I can't imagine this is going to be the best place to go in the summer when both Kiawah and Seabrook islands are packed with people but it's a great place to go in the offseason.

I ordered a pimento cheese burger with bacon {no surprise there}

My dad ordered the chicken fingers

& my mom ordered a Ceasar salad with spicy grilled shrimp

& we also might have been talked into a bucket of beer since we all ordered the same beer. I started a trend with my selection and we figured bike riding would still be possible post-lunch {for the record: it was}.

All in all it was a great afternoon sitting out by the marina. I'll definitely go back here! Especially if it is another sunny, pretty day where I can ride my bike to & from and sit outside. I'm also kind of interested to see in the summer if this is a place that people go to drink because there aren't that many bar options on Kiawah or Seabrook...
