Bachelorette Breweries

If you ask my fiancé {which my bridesmaids did!} what my perfect date would be... it would look a little something like this:

Start early afternoon
Find a brewery
Have a drink or two
Repeat

Visiting and exploring breweries is at the top of my list of things that I like to do. Why? Because it gives me something low key and relaxing to do with my friends while we're hanging out and catching up. And you know what? That's exactly what I wanted my bachelorette weekend to be about: hanging out & catching up with some of my favorite girls.

{Hope y'all are ready for a long post because I fit in a few breweries this weekend!}

The Great Brewery Tour actually started on Thursday of last week in Charlotte while waiting for two of my bridesmaids to arrive at the airport. One of my Charlotte friends met up with me at Olde Mecklenburg Brewery to grab a drink together.

I was pumped because they had my favorite beer, Hornet's Nest, tapped for the season. The rain also cleared up just in time to sit outside and enjoy their great outdoor area. Can you imagine how packed this place must be on a pretty weekend afternoon?

From there, we walked across the street to Sugar Creek Brewing where I sampled the Belgian Pilsner.

Sugar Creek's location is actually the old location of Olde Meck. It's crazy how much OMB has grown since the first time I visited their brewery!

On Friday, our visit to Asheville started out with a stop at a brewery that had been on my list for years: Sierra Nevada.

Even if you don't like to drink beer... go! They have unbelievably awesome food. Definitely get the pretzels & pimento beer cheese dip. Life changing.

I had a flight of four beers {Nooner Pilsner, Kellerweis, Southern Summer Saison, and Close Call Kolsch} and loved them all. They were all light and perfect for drinking in hot weather.

They have great outdoor area where you can walk around, rock in some rocking chairs, or check out music in the ampitheater. We did not do any tours here but I'll be back to check those out one day when we're back in Asheville for a weekend.

We ventured onward to New Belguim.

New Belguim just opened up and they're located right outside of downtown Asheville on the river.

I have always been all about the New Belguim Snapshot beer {see? proof!} but I abandoned it this weekend in favor of a beer that I had never seen before: Sunshine Wheat.

& yes, some of the amazing Sunshine Wheat might have come home with me. As well as a bike bell & coozie {thanks, Ashley!}

Personally, I like all the bike touches that New Belgium has going on... like these sweet tap handles.

There was a quick stop at Lexington Avenue Brewery Friday afternoon while some of the girls decorated our condo for the weekend festivities. Here I had something really good but whose name I have forgotten because I did not grab a picture of the beer menu. Oops.

We rounded out the day at Twin Leaf Brewery where I had the White Noise Belgian Style Wit and where we played many stressful games of life size Jenga. Want stress? Play that game after visiting multiple breweries.

Whew!

Saturday, there was another stop at The LAB and later that evening, we made it to my favorite brewery in downtown Asheville: Wicked Weed!

To be honest, by the time that we showed up to Wicked Weed for drinks & dinner {get their Caesar Salad & the Lunatic Blonde, you won't regret it}, our picture taking skills were a little nonexistent. Other than a bunch of selfies and a pictures of glow stick bracelets. If you're curious about Wicked Weed, check out this post from my first visit there.

... raise your hand if you're exhausted after this post! Seven breweries in two cities over the course of 48 hours. Yup. My brewery loving self is very happy with this end count as well as being able to cross three more breweries off of my list of breweries to visit.

  15. One thing that was great about this place (and that allowed us to plan it in a short timeframe without losing our minds) was that food, alcohol and rentals are all in house so no extra vendors to deal with. Also the view from San Francisco wedding venues was amazing!
