Weekending Around Columbia

Whew, after a week full of torrential downpours, the rain finally cleared out Friday after lunch... just in time for a sunny, gorgeous weekend. Which was good since we did a lot outside.

I was finally, finally, finally able to get back to a Brew at the Zoo! Patrick, Patrick's brother Andrew, and I went Friday night and had the best time. There was an abundance of beer to try out and there might have been animals to see? For once, I wasn't paying attention to the animals and was way more interested in the other things going on.

Wanna know what makes me happy?

Goose Island 312 + the Zoo. Two of my favorite things together. You can't really go wrong there, can you?

I'll have a little more about Brew at the Zoo tomorrow so be sure to check back!

Saturday morning we headed to our new favorite breakfast spot downtown {Panera} before running some errands and heading out to the lake for the day.

Does it get much better than cruising around the lake in the warm sunshine?

Nope. This parlayed well into a nap on the return trip back to the house!

& how cute is this puppy? Patrick's parents got this little guy back in the winter and he loves to cuddle. If you're sitting, he's going to try to find a way into your lap.

Sunday, I was on my feet pretty much all day. It started with a 3 mile run followed up by wasting time in Kohl's & Lowes while waiting for a tire to be patched. I rewarded my early morning {miserably hot} run with lunch with Patrick at Hickory Tavern in the Vista. Afterwards, my mom and I took advantage of the end of tax free weekend... & by that I mean I bought a new pair of running shoes and a shirt and she bought some bath towels. Real exciting purchases, right?

But for real. 17,399 steps? No wonder I slept so well last night...

Happy Monday!

  1. Absolutely perfect weekend girl! I love how much you love the zoo - I really think yours is special though - maybe ours doesn't offer as much LOL! Your making me want some panera for breakfast this morning and that lake view is enough to make me wish it was still the weekend!! Happy Monday girl! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston
