Five on Friday

Happy first Friday of February!

& cheers to February. There are four straight weekends where we have absolutely zero plans. We're not traveling anywhere. There are no more football tailgates or watch parties to host. We're not going to any weddings. There are no big birthday celebrations planned. I mean, we're actually planning on cooking dinner in our house this weekend for just the two of us. I'm not sure that's ever happened in our house since we moved in almost 9 months ago.

Should I be this excited about it? Probably not. But I am!

I did a little Valentine's Day shopping for myself and ordered two books on Amazon earlier this week that I've been wanting to read for awhile.

Talking as Fast as I Can by Lauren Graham
The Magnolia Story by Chip & Joanna Gaines

What do you do when it's the first day of February and it's sunny & 75 degrees out?

You go to the zoo during lunch, of course! Nothing better than a lunchtime stroll through the zoo when the weather is absolutely gorgeous out. I won't 'fess up to the number of times that I went to the zoo during lunch this week... but  yes, it was definitely more than once.

PS - speaking of the zoo, if you live in Columbia, you need to buy your ticket to go to the Wine Tasting! We went last year & had a great time. We're definitely going again this year!

With all this warm weather, I'm over here daydreaming of Fireflies baseball games. There's only like two months to go until opening day and I am so ready to be back at another game!

Random weeknight + date night with the husband {including the matching hats} + some baseball = perfect way to spend a spring evening.

There are two causes that Patrick & I love to be able to support: Cure SMA and the National Brain Tumor Society. They are two causes near & dear to us and both have events coming up that we'd love to see y'all at!

First up is for my Charlotte friends: the Charlotte Brain Tumor Race on Saturday, April 1, 2017.

It's a 5K {or a 10K if you choose} that begins & ends at Romare Bearden Park in uptown Charlotte.

{read about last year's race here}

Second is for my Columbia friends: The Hayes' Heroes Cure SMA Evening of Hope on Saturday, April 1, 2017.

This is a fancy little gala that includes both a silent and a live auction. Patrick and I had such a good time with our families and friends here last year. I'm looking forward to going back again!

Thank goodness it's the weekend! I'll cheers to that.

Happy Friday, y'all! & Happy Super Bowl to those of y'all that care about either team. It's weird to have a Super Bowl this year with 0 teams I care about {since the Seahawks or the Panthers have been in each of the last 3} but I'm sure we'll watch to catch some of the commercials!
