Meal Planning #1

What? A blog post on a Sunday?

A blog post not about a 5K?

I'm mixing things up a little this week {after a solid week of no posts - sorry!} and throwing a weekly meal plan your way. Meal planning is one of my very favorite things to do each week for two reasons:

1. There's no "what should we have for dinner tonight?" discussions during the week
2. There's {hopefully} only one trip to the grocery store each week on Sunday morning

By the time the weekend rolls around, I usually have a good idea of what we're having the following week for dinner {Sunday - Saturday} and have a grocery list ready to go. If not? Then there's a quick scramble to put one together on the drive between our church and Publix on Sunday morning. Because y'all, there is nothing worse {in my mind} than having to go to the grocery store on a Sunday afternoon or during the week. I will do everything possible to avoid this!

Here's what's on the menu for us this week!

Sunday - Monday Fun-day Pot Roast w/ Rice & Butter Beans
Tuesday - Brined & Oven Baked Chicken w/ Green Beans
Wednesday - Pork Tenderloin, Broccoli, & Brown Rice
Thursday - Roasted Spaghetti Squash w/ Chicken, Broccoli, & Parmesan Cheese
Friday - Out to Dinner
Saturday - Dinner @ Fundraiser

The best part of all of this? It's noon on Sunday and we have already been to church, completed our grocery shopping for the week, put away all of the groceries, prepped snacks for the work week, started dinner in the crockpot, & our Sunday morning brunch mess is cleaned up. We have all of our things done for the day and we have a whole, sunny Sunday afternoon ahead of us.

Two guesses as to what we'll be up to later today!

Happy Sunday, y'all!

  5. Love this post! I totally agree - I try to get my grocery shopping done early on Sunday to avoid all the people and the store being super picked over. All your meals sound delicious - definitely have to try that spaghetti squash!
