Six

Six years ago, {tomorrow!} I was this too-cool-for-school senior getting ready to start her last fall semester at Clemson with a whopping 12 hour class schedule.

I was fresh off of a successful second summer internship in North Carolina, had just turned 21, and was being a little rebel by skipping out on mandatory sorority recruitment practice to drive down to Lexington, SC for a wedding. Let's be real: I was way more interested in seeing friends tie the knot than practice talking to a paper plate with a face drawn on it.

Either way, I was on top of the world and felt like I was in complete control of where my life was headed. Things were good.

I clearly had no idea that one little question from the cute boy that I hadn't met yet was about to change everything.

So here's to six  years!

& just for fun, here's some pictures of us from way back then when we had just started dating. Babies, right?

Anyway, we're going to celebrate by heading down to Kiawah to watch me attempt to paddle board without falling into the water every other minute and to spend some time with a couple of friends of ours. If I have anything to say about it, there will probably be some Peach Bellinis involved, too.

And bacon. Because what weekend is complete without bacon?

Happy Friday!

  3. Oh my gosh, the "conversation" practice for recruitment was always painful. Well mentally painful. They physically painful part was cramming in the door and singing while your knees got bruised! Happy anniversary!
