Week 11: USC vs Florida

Week 11 of the college football season & it was tailgate/game # 8 for me.

& for the first time ALL SEASON LONG, we finally lucked into a perfect football day. The sun was shining, no rain was in the forecast, and we had perfect fall temperatures. Yes, it took eleven weeks to finally get ideal tailgate/game weather.

{for the record, that is a magenta scarf, not garnet. y'all know me better than that}

Because USC was playing Florida at noon, we got out to our tailgate fairly early. It was in the low 40s when we got there! Brrr. But like I said, it was sunny, so there wasn't a single complaint.

Ok, well, the only real complaint of the day was that I like to put my hand on my hip and stick out my elbow in every picture. My dad decided to join in on the fun.

We spent the morning tailgating, catching up with old friends, trying out a new crockpot breakfast casserole recipe, and chatting about football.

My mom even made it to her first USC game of the season!

We made it into the game just after kickoff. If you went to any type of sporting event this weekend, I'm sure you noticed the increased security presence and the longer bag check process. I've never had to remove things from my purse before but I had to take out my camera on Saturday to let them measure it before being allowed inside the stadium.

I can't say that this was the most entertaining game that I've ever been to. There was a little action in the 1st quarter and then a whole lot of nothing until USC decided to step their game up in the 4th quarter. They scored their first touchdown late in the game and got the stadium up on their feet. Second touchdown? Total excitement. They were making a comeback!

Well... they tried to make a comeback, but Florida ended up winning the game 24-14.

Clemson's game at Syracuse started right after the USC game ended so I missed most of the first half of the game. I had people texting updates left and right and got to listen to some of it in the truck on the way home. But when we got back home? Promptly fell asleep on the couch and saw bits and pieces of the 3rd quarter.

The good news is that I got to be completely stressed out for the entire 4th quarter as Clemson battled a very scrappy Syracuse team.

But...

10-0!!!

5th 10 win season in a row. One step closer to the College Playoffs.

& how about the Panthers? They're rocking an undefeated season as well. We just won't talk about the Seahawks this season :(

  10. Awe boo. We love to tailgate at the Georgia games, and my family made the journey down to Jacksonville, FL for the big rival game where Florida won. We've had an unfortunate season this year. Fingers crossed for a better season next year!
