Weekending: the Hero Edition

Hellooooooo spring time!

I mean, I know that it's not officially spring time yet but the days are longer {thank you, daylight savings time!} and the weather has been absolutely amazing lately. It's been in the 70s/80s for the last couple of weeks and my warm weather loving self is in heaven.

Which is why on Friday {when it was 84 degrees out...}, we had to start off the weekend right: drinks on the Hickory Tavern rooftop in the VIsta. We met up with four of our friends for drinks and dinner and we decided to take advantage of the mild weather outside.

{Can you spy the accountant who is super thrilled to be enjoying time outside of the office? ;)}

Saturday was a little bit different than the last few weekends in town...

First up: wedding food tasting!

Next up: A Cure SMA Evening of Hope presented by Hayes' Heroes.

What. A. Fun. Event.

Y'all, we had an absolute blast with lots of our friends and family and I sincerely hope that they put on this event again next year. It was for a great cause and was a huge hit.

Want to know more about Hayes' Heroes? Check out this video about the event & their Facebook page here. Hayes is our friends' two year old son who was diagnosed with SMA type 2 recently. He's the cutest little red head and we love supporting him & Cure SMA!

Our Sunday looked a lot like this:

Church.
Lunch.
House hunting.
{woo hoo!}

& just like that, my "slow season" has come to an end. Y'all, it was great. I loved staying in town most weekends and having most of Saturday to run errands and be productive. I had completely forgotten what that was like over the last 6 or 7 years. Yup. It's been THAT long since I've had so many consecutive weekends of not traveling. I'm already counting down to this time of year next year. Cannot wait.

But at the same time... so ready to get on the road and get back to traveling and exploring and being busy!

Linking up with Biana for another edition of Weekending.
