Week 11: Clemson vs Pitt

I guess you can't win every game.

But I'd have to say that we definitely won the tailgating game this Saturday! It was a full tailgate this week: the guys came, we grilled out, we had the crockpot going, and there was even a TV so the guys could watch the USC/Florida game at noon.

Plus, everyone else decided to abandon their tailgates for a minute or two and come visit us.

It was an absolutely gorgeous day on Saturday. It was sunny and cool and normally, I'd complain about the cold breeze that kept blowing through but it definitely kept the smoke from the nearby wild fires out of Clemson.

Saturday's game was Senior Day. Although it wasn't our last home game for the season, we like to honor our seniors during the final home game before the rivalry game with USC on Thanksgiving weekend. That way, the rivalry game doesn't overshadow the seniors/the juniors leaving early for the NFL.

Y'all. I feel like we are losing our entire team! Starting QB, some excellent wide receivers, my favorite defensive player, our outstanding tight end... um... I'm not ok with this.

As for the game? Well. Can't say that I'm a huge fan of the refs officiating the game {#NotMyRefs}. There were so many calls against Clemson after they made a critical stop on 3rd down. In fact, all of the fans in the stadium started booing the officials after each bad call which quickly morphed into booing after every single play.

Every. Single. Play.

We opted to leave the game with less than a minute left {when Clemson was still up 42-40} so that we could beat traffic. I think it's a good thing that I didn't have to see that last second, winning field goal by Pitt. Ugh.

However. Clemson can still beat USC, they can still play {& win!} the ACC Championship, they can still make it to the College Football Playoffs, and there is still a chance to play in the National Championship Game. I've got my fingers crossed that this loss will make my team a little bit better!

  1. When your team loses it's never fun, but at least you had a blast at the tailgate! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston

  2. The tailgate sounds like a blast - and it sounds like you left at the right time. That would have definitely put a damper on the whole experience!
