Hello, 2017

Happy 2017!!!

It's a new year and it's a new day and I don't know about you, but I've got big plans for this year. It's gonna be a good one.

So how's your 2017 going so far? Me? I've got no complaints.

My 2016 ended exactly the way I wanted it to...

1. With an absolutely awesome 5K to boost my post-Kiawah Half running ego.

2. Surrounded by some good friends {& a super cute 10 month old} in our new home as we rang in the New Year.

3. With a champagne jello shot {because yes, there's such a thing}

4. AND with a CLEMSON BOWL GAME VICTORY!

That's right y'all, Clemson is back in the National Championship Game for the second year in a row. They'll be playing Alabama. Again. It's the rematch that the college football world never knew they wanted until now.

Patrick and I managed to do a whole lot of nothing on New Year's Day. There were plenty of couch naps and movie watching but other than that... nothing. Nada. It was wonderful.

We did spend all of Monday being productive to make up for it. We did a zillion loads of laundry, all of the Christmas decorations have been taken down and packed away, and we bought a new vacuum. It was a super exciting day, y'all.

There was also a lot of football watching. Patrick's mom's side of the family has what they call the Official Jar Bowl Pick'em Bonanza. It's based on the New Year's Eve and New Year's Day bowl games only which was 8 games this year. You don't get to play unless you're "officially" in the family. So for SEVEN years I sat on the sideline.

Until this year. I finally got to participate! I went 7 for 7 and was feeling pretty good about life until Auburn went and ruined everything by dropping their bowl game to Oklahoma. Way to go, Auburn.

Anyway, we're back to adulting today. Back to the early morning gym sessions, the 8-5 work week, and the normal bedtimes.

At least it's only a 4 day week! Happy Tuesday, y'all!

  1. A perfect end to 2016. No doubt about it. I am looking forward to getting back to my running after our baby girl makes her debut. I need to add that to my monthly to do list next month for sure. I hope you have a great start to 2017 friend.

  8. Congrats to Clemson!! Are you going to go down to Tampa for the National Championship?? Going 7 for 8 in the bowl picks is pretty good for being your first year actually getting to play ;)
