The Kiawah Half Marathon {Part One}

There are three accomplishments in my life that I am really, really proud of. In no particular order, they are:

- Getting accepted to Clemson
- Graduating from Clemson in four years while doing three semester-long internships and with a job offer using my degree
- Running a half marathon

It's so hard to even think about how to put this weekend into words because it was beyond incredible. Just kidding. There are four posts worth of this race coming at ya this week because a) over 600 pictures were taken & b) this is only the biggest thing I've accomplished in the last 4.5 years so I want to remember it all.

Here's how it started...

Hannah, Jessie, and I took a quick little 1.75 mile run around Kiawah Friday morning just to loosen up and get a feel for the weather to see what clothing would be necessary for the half.

We started the carbo-loading at breakfast with pancakes & bacon.

We hung out with some Christmas frogs.

After a trip to the grocery store, we started cooking our favorite crockpot spaghetti sauce.

Then we ventured out to the East Beach Conference Center on Kiawah for the race packet pick up & expo.

It was more fun than we anticipated...

I was reminded of the fact that I'm terrible at these little jumping pictures.

On our way to sunset drinks on the boardwalk {minus the drinks}, we ran into this little guy hanging out across the street from the house. He was absolutely unconcerned that the three of us were less than 10 feet from him.

There was a gorgeous sunset.

& a delicious dinner.

Christmas Part 1 also took place since Jessie had given us gifts that would be useful during the half marathon...

Before we knew it, it was time to hit the hay & get some sleep before the race.
