& I ran a heck of a lot better than I was expecting to after not running for the seven weeks leading up to it. It was one long, amazing break of not running but I think I'm ready to get back into it for real again.

The race was a perfect one to start back with: the race was about 5 minutes from my house, the weather was perfect, and the course was mostly flat. There was absolutely nothing stressful about it which was awesome.
Plus, it was a small, local race. Want to know what usually happens in small, local races?

Overall, it was a really good run. I managed to run the whole thing & run it in under 30 minutes which are the two main goals that I have every single time that I run a 5K. As long as I meet those goals, I'm pretty pumped. BOTH of my parents also came to watch me run but I completely failed at getting a picture with either of them. Oops.
They did a great job taking pictures though!
My dad did take video of the last minute of the race as I came running down the track to circle onto the field for the final 50 yards of the race. But... I'd rather y'all not see exactly how slow I was running {... jogging?} at that point.
Final Results
Time - 29:59
Pace - 9:39/mile
Age Group - 3/7
Gender - 43/109
Overall - 92/196
Next up: find a February race to run! Any suggestions?
