Five on Friday

It's Friday, the high for tomorrow is 67 {yay, fall weather!}, and I'm more than ready to get this weekend started. Let's do this!

If there's one wedding gift that Patrick loves more than any other wedding gift, it's the cast iron skillet that we received. Boy loves that thing. So far we've cooked pork chops {2x} and filet mignon with it but then he branched out and made us imitation Chickfila chicken nuggets.

Not quite the same as Chickfila, but still delicious.

For those of y'all who have been asking about our Kiawah house, it survived Hurricane Matthew! It weathered the storm well and it's only damage appears to be lots of branches, limbs, and leaves scattered all around the exterior of the house.

& the boardwalk might be broken but at least the sunsets are still just as gorgeous!

... but then the King Tide rolled in a few days after the hurricane and washed out even more of our boardwalk. The boardwalk was brand new, too. They tore down our old one last spring and had built us a new one - it was maybe 5 months old? At least the part of the boardwalk that survived is my favorite part & the part that washed away was the hazardous-to-me part of the boardwalk.

One thing we haven't been able to do in awhile?

Midweek date night!

We've been so focused on meal planning/eating better instead of eating out all the time {like we did for the first 7 years of our relationship} that we kind of forgot about how much fun a midweek date night could be. Happy hour drinks at The Casual Pint followed up by dinner at Twisted Spur? Yes, please.

{PS - their Blonde & Cheddar soup is amazing. No, I didn't have one for an appetizer and another one for dessert...}

We're heading over to the stadium tomorrow for USC's home game against Massachusetts... but you know what else is happening right next to the stadium? The fair!

We typically park in the fairgrounds so since the fair is in town, we're having to relocate... to our favorite brewery. Totally ok with it.

We're doing a fall mini session on Sunday afternoon with only the best photographer ever... she took some amazing pictures at our engagement session, for my bridal portraits, and at our wedding. I cannot wait to see what she captures this time around!

Happy Friday! Hope y'all have a great weekend!

  5. Ok, those homemade Chick fil A nuggets look like they actually came from Chick fil A! I don't think anything will taste as good as the real thing but I'd definitely be willing to try those! And yay for mid week date night! Always nice to get out on a "school night" ;) <3, Pamela Sequins & Sea Breezes
