Inside My Camera Bag

Over the last few months, I've let my photography slip some. I haven't been getting out and exploring as often with my camera. The hours I spent playing around with photographs have dwindled down to almost nothing. There haven't been any more photo shoots for family/friends since early May.

Time to change that.

A couple of y'all have asked recently what type of equipment & accessories I have for my camera. Well, since I'm diving headfirst back into photography, I decided to open up my camera bag and remember everything that I have stashed away in there...

Camera
Canon Rebel t2i ... which Canon doesn't actually sell anymore. Guess that's a hint that I need to go ahead & upgrade to this guy?

Lenses
Canon EF-S 18-55mm
Canon EF 75-300
Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II

{I'm always pretty excited to receive a new lens for Christmas!}

The next lens on my list to buy is this one: Canon EF 40mm f/2.8

Accessories
I had camera strap from this shop on Etsy on my Christmas list last year & received two of them. Best thing about them? They have a little place to stash your lens cap.

Patrick is really good about buying me things I didn't know I needed, like this wireless remote control. Family pictures got a lot easier... once I figured out how to use it. This was attempt #1, ha!

DSLR Pro Kit by Lens Pen is the greatest thing to clean your camera with, hands down.

This compact tripod is worth the extra money. You could get a cheaper one, but this one works so well and is flexible enough for you to be able to get the exact height/angle you are looking for.

I asked for this lens filter kit for Christmas one year. Wanna know how many times I've used it? ...looks like I have a new camera toy to play with!

Bag
& the actual bag itself
This bag does exactly what I need to do: it hauls around & protects all of my camera equipment. It doesn't win any points for style though.

If I could have any bag, it would definitely be this one by Kelly Moore:
Riva in Saddle

Alright y'all, that's what's in my camera bag. What am I missing? It's the beginning of October which is basically Christmas according to all the stores around here which means it's time to start thinking about the good ol' Christmas List ;)

  2. Great post! I've been using Ryan's dad's f/1.8 and it's amazing. It's definitely on my Christmas list (or maybe he'll just give me his!) Have a great Thursday :)

  3. Ps. Do you like the lens pens better than the kits with the papers & stuff. I need to get a cleaning kit ASAP, I just don't know what's best!

  5. Pretty sure I just added all of your lenses (except the 18-55mm that I already have) and accessories to my Amazon wish list! :) So thank you for that! I'm still trying to figure out what lenses do what....could you maybe sometime do a post about which lens you use for what and an example photo you took with each lens? I'm still really impressed with your pictures of the Clemson game last weekend (wayyyy better than mine)!!!

  7. Thanks for posting this!

I added the cleaning kit and remote to my Christmas wish list :)

One of the things I love is a Crumpler Haven- it's a padded pouch with inserts made for cameras that can be tossed into any bag!
