Missing Kiawah

Ah, Labor Day Weekend on Kiawah.

You would think a long weekend on Kiawah would make this girl happy, but nope. Not this long weekend. This particular long weekend means that I better savor up all that the island has to offer because it's going to be a loooong time before I can get back down there thanks to football season.

At best, it's going to be 43 more days before I'm down there.

Worst case scenario, it's going to be 70 days.

Here's hoping that it's going to be the best case scenario and that I don't go through too many withdrawals in the meantime.

Either way, we had a fantastic time down at the beach this weekend. The whole family plus significant others made it out there Saturday through Monday. Patrick and I were able to spend a lot of time with them as well as a lot of time wandering the island by ourselves.

& doing things like this.

Because even when you're 27 and 30, when you see a rope swing, you have to try it out. Unspoken rule.

There was the super awesome Engagement Toast on the boardwalk at sunset that produced this picture {too good to not post about multiple times in one week!}

Did you catch that gorgeous sunset in the background? This is why we do sunset drinks all of the time.

There was a struggle-filled 4 mile run on Sunday morning thanks to a Saturday full of tailgating.

& ZERO time on the beach unless you count the two bike rides and two long walks. These two had plenty of fun in the sand for me though.

At the end of the day though, it was time to say adios to the Atlantic and to Kiawah. At least for a couple of months...

  1. The struggle is so real after a tailgating day! My struggle was still real on Monday- oooops. I love the photos though!

  2. I'm just like you - I always get so sad when one "season" ends - I was quite bummed when we left the lake last weekend. Football season is the best but all that tailgating really can make room for nothing else! Oh well, tailgate weekends are the best weekends!

  3. I love Kiawah so much. I helped set up a wedding at Mingo Point on Saturday, it was great to see the beautiful marsh views all day.
