Week 1: Clemson vs Wofford

First of all, Happy 90th Birthday to my grandmother! She's the one who gets most of the credit for instilling in me my love of all things Clemson from an early age and y'all, you would never guess that she's 90.

She doesn't act like she's 90.

Remember a year ago when she fell and broke her hip? You wouldn't even know it if you met her today. We're having a 90th birthday party for her next weekend {a birthday party that won't be hijacked into a surprise engagement party...} and the woman probably has more friends than I do because of how social she is.

But I digress. Back to football.

Clemson vs Wofford: September 5, 2015
49-10, Clemson

Y'all, it was so good to be back in Clemson on Saturday! We were so afraid that it was going to be a dreary, rainy day. So much in fact that I went with curly hair anticipating the damp, humid weather. Nope. Not a single rain drop all day long.

It was a day of downtown shopping, tailgating, catching up with old friends, and watching the Tigers kick off the season in style.

We kept our tailgate minimal... minimal as in we only had chicken nuggets, grapes, and pimento cheese and we literally ate out of the tailgate of the car. There was so much to do that we didn't feel like busting out the chairs or the table with just two of us this week.

We may have had to both restrain ourselves from running to say hi.

I really miss seeing Laurel every day at work! And our post-work wine dates.

On our way into the stadium, we stopped by Ashley & Stephanie's tailgate to catch up real quick. Side note: you know you're at a blogger's tailgate when...

It was so good to see both of the Ashleys and their respective husbands before the game!

Especially since I couldn't wait to show them a certain new accessory this week ;)

But then it was game time!

C-L-E-M-S-OOOOO-N!

The temperature inside of the stadium was miserable. It may have only been 85 degrees outside and cloudy, but as soon as we walked in, the sun came out and fried us. We were planning on leaving at halftime to get down to Kiawah but y'all, we had to leave with 5 minutes left in the first half. It was that bad.

The good news is that we're going back on Saturday to do it all again. The mighty Mountaineers from App State are coming to Clemson for the first time ever.

{circa fall 2008 - 20 year old baby!}

You might call me an App State fan. I have a long history with App, have been to a couple of their games, and have quite a few friends who graduated from there so I've always cheered for their football team. I just won't be so fond of them on Saturday because I do not want Clemson to become the next Michigan for them!
