Week 2: Clemson vs Troy

Ah, Clemson, I've missed you.

I've missed the early Saturday mornings in our tailgate lot. The time spent wandering around downtown checking out the shops. The visiting with friends that we only get to see a few times a year {mostly during football season}. The excellent tailgate food. And the football.

Definitely the football games.

Clemson has played five {that's right - FIVE} games away from Clemson. It's about time they finally made it back home for a game!

But to tell you the truth, we spent most of our time in Clemson socializing with our favorite brother/brother-in-law, doing a little shopping, and hopping from tailgate to tailgate... not so much time watching the actual football.

First game in Clemson as a married couple! :)
... and of course, Patrick got roped into a quick game of cornhole with some of our good friends.

Which was fine, because it meant that I got to hang out with these two mamas-to-be.

There was a game, too. We made it in for most of the first quarter and a good chunk of the second one. But second half? Ha.

Have you gathered from this post yet that we were terrible fans this weekend? I mean first of all, Patrick isn't even a fan of Clemson to begin with and second of all, we didn't make it through the first half of the game. And we were on the road by the time the second half started.

In our defense, it was hot. It was Troy. I had a friend coming into town and a Maroon 5 concert to get to.

Either way, GO TIGERS! 2-0 to start the season! ... even if you didn't look like Clemson at all for the second week in a row.

Next week, Patrick and I are participating in that whole "marriage compromise" thing and we'll be going to USC's home game rather than Clemson's game. USC will be playing ECU and not going to lie, I'm pretty excited about our tailgate for next week. We've got some fun things planned!

  3. It would be funny if you dressed as a Pirate for the USC v. ECU game. My eyes are watering right now thinking about your husband's face when he saw you :o)

That Clemson game was like a bad scrimmage. They best shape up.
