Week 3: USC vs ECU

While you cannot call me {and will never be able to call me} a South Carolina football fan... I do enjoy the tailgating. It's one thing that I really look forward to about going to their games.

Especially because my husband really, really, really loves to tailgate before his games. He's truly in his element when the astroturf is rolled out, the tent is up, and the grill is cooking something delicious that he's prepared. I say that Kiawah is my happy place. Tailgating at a USC game is definitely his.

The tailgate for the USC vs ECU game was no exception.

For food, we contributed burgers, black bean & corn salsa, and homemade pimento cheese.

Mainly because I really, really wanted a pimento cheese burger. It was as delicious as I was hoping it would be, too.

We tailgated with some good friends.

& my favorite in-laws!

{for the record, that's a Beat SC State sticker on my shirt, not anything Gamecock related!}

& as for that game?

Well. It was beyond HOT. USC ended up holding on to their lead & beating ECU to improve to 2-1.

We are football free next weekend thanks to both teams traveling to away games but in 12 days I'll be back in Clemson! We're playing Louisville. And I'm more than a little nervous because that team is Dangerous with a capital D {63-20 over FSU? You'd be scared, too} Thank goodness we have them at home this year.

  2. I'll be up in Clemson on Saturday for the Tail of the Tiger Regatta! It's the best of football season without the traffic. I hope the weather is nice. And they shred Tech like they did last year.

    I have so many friends and family who were at Saturday's USC game that it's like I was there!

    I'll have to try the pimento cheese burgers! Looks yum!!

  3. HAHA I love that you didn't actually support the Gamecocks! Too funny! You guys always have the best food and tailgate set up! I need to get that turf for my tailgate. I got eaten alive by fire ants this weekend! <3, Pamela Sequins & Sea Breezes

  8. Looks like a great weekend of tailgating! I love a pimento cheese burger. With a new baby, I'm afraid we'll only get to one this season.
