A Southern Twenty-Five On Friday Seattle Style

Happy Friday!

You know the drill...

THE GOOD LIFE BLOG

For someone who has spent less than 14 days in Seattle, I sure do have some crazy love affair going on with that city. If only it weren't completely across the country from me {& flights weren't so expensive!}

I have this problem though. Anytime anyone mentions anything about Seattle, I start day dreaming about how much I want to go back again and what things I want to do that we haven't done. I could be watching a Seahawks football game on TV, someone could ask if it's me with the brother in Seattle, someone could even mention the state of Washington & off I go.

So today's FIve on Friday isn't going to be Christmas related like I bet half of everyone else's will be. It's going to be all about Seattle and about all {ok 5} of the things that I want to do on my next trip out there.

{one}
I love Russell Wilson {& did before he was even drafted by Seattle} and I love the Seahawks. I'm pretty sure I've seen more Seahawks games this season than I have seen Panthers games {sorry Cam}, and I really, really, really want to go to the country's loudest football stadium for a game. Any game. I'm not picky. Preferably early in the season though before it gets too rainy...

I've already been on a tour of the stadium and I've already been there for a Seattle Sounders game. Time to experience another side of Century Link field.

My mom might have been the one leading the charge to go whale watching & see the orcas, but I wasn't too far behind her on that one. We tried to go on our 2nd trip but we waited too late to make a reservation... this was as close as we could get:
{see the whale?}

Next trip, I actually want to take a boat out to the San Juan islands and so some for real whale watching.

I'd like to find somewhere in Seattle that specializes in local wine. I know I could go out to a vineyard but how do you choose which one? The first trip out there we stayed in Vintage Park Hotel which had a wine tasting every night from 5-6 and they only had local Washington State wine. I liked the focus on wine that I'd never had before. But... it's kind of silly to stay in a hotel just because you like their "free" happy hour... right? I'm not going to lie though, that happy hour was the best way to start each night of our trip. It also helped that by the end of the week, they knew us and the wine that we liked the best so they made sure it was out and ready to go.

True story: I fell in love with Columbia Crest Two Vines Vineyard 10 White Wine. I almost cried the day that I could no longer find it at Harris Teeter and found out it had been discontinued.

{four}
I want to spend a day in the market with just me & my camera. I want to take pictures of all the fresh produce, of the fresh flowers, of the guys throwing fish around, of all the people who wander through the market. I don't think it would be possible to get bored there especially if it were a Saturday during July/August when everyone in Seattle is trying to be outside as much as possible.

{five}
I want to go out to Alki Beach mainly for the amazing views of downtown Seattle and the Olympic Mountains. I'm sure there are other fabulous things to do out here {cool restaurants maybe?} but I just want to go for the views.

Honorary Mention:

My brother lives in this apartment building with a fantastic rooftop. I'd love to go out there, grill out, and have dinner while watching the sun set behind the Space Needle.

Happy Friday!

  2. How fun!?

    By the way, I can totally relate to your wine sadness. The worst thing ever is when a company discontinues a product that you absolutely love!
